We have two scanner appliances in Europe and two in USA.
And one control center appliance for all four scanners.
Would like a way to block the whole IP range of a country. Such as what you would find listed here for various countries: http://www.nirsoft.net/countryip/
This would allow to stop phishing/spoofed email using ranges from different countries that an organization is not in communication with.

Currently we can see that there is no fingerprint available for lotus notes id file in the list of Attachment list under Content in SMG. It will be great if the development will include this in their latest realease of the software.

I wonder why if i imported a group in my active directory for my policy group and apply a policy for it, its not working.
If I enter the mail individually on a policy group it works fine.
checked that the correct content filtering is applied to the policy group

Currenly the SMG-SP doesn't provide any graphical interface that shows the spam traffic, top senders, top spammers and other statistics
For this reason, we would like to ask you to add the Reporting feature to the SMG-SP product for a better visibility.

Have an outbound email that has a Suspected Spam verdict, kindly advice if there's any adjustment needed:
It would great if I could filter email by senders' display name.
I can do it if I enable "Text in this specific part of the message""contains""from: address" and then typing sender's name.
What I can't do, is to use a dictionary of senders's display name.
We tested the Disarm function in SMG 10.5.1 and every email coming in with a PDF attachment was flagged with "PDF Other".
Since we don't really know what that removes from the file we were not able to use the Disarm feature for PDF all together. Would it be possible to make it a choice to enable this disam or not but leave the other PDF content types as an option?
I want to use TLS Encryption on my SMG Appliances . For this I want to buy a Certificate from a well know third party company however I need to generate a CSR . When you generate a CSR , you can only mention one Common Name whereas we want to generate a certificate which can support upto 7-8 Host Names ( Subject alternative Names) and be usable by 4 SMG MTAs .

SMG-SP doesn't support the "custom filter" module that allows us to block some undesired emails based on a spefic conditions like headers, subject, body, , "Envelope to", etc.
Thus, can you please add this missing module in your future SMG-SP updates

How can I customized the policy to meet the "reply-to" requirement in SMG. We are currently suing SMG version 10.5.3-4.
I work with your support on an issue with SMG, the problem was acknowledged as a fault of your product, however I need to go and fill in the same information again...
What's worse I need to login three times (with same name and password) to reach the Idea button...

When there is an XML file head ("<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>") in a file attached to an email - and even if the file extension is txt - the content filtering fails to find a text/regex pattern within the file...

I have a doubt on enabling the email polices that are pre-configured in the appliance. I'm referring to the "Marketing Email/Newsletter/Suspicous URL".
When I enable, these polices refine the the email that are insise the bounds of "Suspected Spam" ?
Customers not currently on Symantec Messaging Gateway 10.5.4 or later are strongly advised to update by December, 31st 2015, to continue to receive updates past January 2016.
